Opening ceremony of the exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Azerbaijan Carpet Museum was held in Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade
On June 1, 2017 an opening ceremony of the exhibition of showpieces of Azerbaijan Carpet Museum was held in Belgrade. Representatives of Ministry of Culture and Information of Serbia, other state agencies, Serbian public, diplomatic corps in Belgrade, Serbia-Azerbaijan Trade Chamber, Azerbaijan Cultural Center and Serbia-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, as well as Azerbaijanis living, working and studying in Serbia, and mass media representatives participated in the event.
Speakers at the ceremony – director of Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade Ms.Mirjana Menkovic, director of Azerbaijan Carpet Museum Ms.Shirin Melikova, director of Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Serbia Ms.Zarifa Alizade and representative of Ministry of Culture and Information of Serbia spoke about Azerbaijan-Serbia cultural cooperation. It was noted that the exhibitions of Pirot kilims of Serbia in Baku and showpieces of Azerbaijan Carpet Museum in Belgrade contribute to the cultural cooperation between our countries, make our people closer, and help our nations to be acquainted with similarities and differences of our cultures.
At the opening ceremony, the Embassy and Cultural Center of Azerbaijan in Serbia organized Azerbaijani music performance of Serbian and Azerbaijani musicians.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition which will last until July 1, 2017 and the ancient and new carpets, masterpieces of the rich Azerbaijani culture raised great interest of the Serbian public.
