Opening ceremony of the Ljig-Preljina section of the highway constructed in Serbia according to the Credit Agreement between Azerbaijan and Serbia
The opening ceremony of the Ljig-Preljina section of the highway in Serbia, constructed according to the Credit Agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Serbia signed in 2012 was held on November 7, 2016. The delegation from Azerbaijan headed by the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mr.Shahin Mustafayev participated at the event. Azerbaijan allocated to Serbia credit amounting 300 mln. Avro for the realization of the project. 40,3 km long highway has 66 bridges and 4 tunnels. The main contractor of the project was “AzVirt” company from Azerbaijan. A board with the inscriptions “Distance is not a menace for friendship between countries”, “This road brings our nations closer”, “Friendship between Serbia and Azerbaijan is unbreakable” was placed at the entrance of the highway. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Shahin Mustafayev noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia are based on strategic partnership, friendship and mutual respect, and there are opportunities to strengthen the cooperation in economic and trade spheres.
